Description

Obenauf’s Heavy Duty LP Industrial strength leather preservative (lp) was originally developed for protecting and waterproofing firefighters leather work boots. Heavy Duty LP is a leather conditioner made with our natural oil and beeswax formula. This unique Beeswax/Propolis Suspension Formula protects leather against caustic fire retardant chemicals, heat, water, and abrasion. Natural oils in Heavy Duty LP are gradually released into the fibers as a long term lubrication. Heat and flexing cause oils to be released, oiling the leather when it needs it most, making this an excellent leather boot conditioner. Before application, a spot test is recommended because Heavy Duty LP will darken your leather and nubuck. Not recommended for Suede. Made in the USA. Apply Heavy Duty LP to your: Leather Work Boots Saddle Bags and Chaps Belts Holsters Sheathes Baseball Gloves And more! The Only Natural Industrial Strength Leather Protection For Your Boots Heavy Duty LP provides a natural barrier to grime and reinforces against scuffing. With the Beeswax/Propolis Suspension formula, a little goes a long way. It waterproofs naturally, still allowing leather to breath. With regular application, people are getting years of wear from their leather boots! Leather gets oiled when and where it needs it most; while on the job! Recommended Application At room temperature, apply by hand as body temperature helps melt LP into leather. Two applications last longer in wet conditions. For absorption, allow ten minutes or up to one hour between treatments. On smooth leather, buff off excess with a clean cloth. On nubuck, use a soft bristled brush. One ounce should provide one application to a pair of tall boots. Apply every 6 to 8 weeks or as needed. I have been using this product for year on all my leather goods that touch real weather outside, such as rain and snow and dirt and what not. Easy to apply if you follow the instructions, multiple applications is the best way. Depending on how you use your leather products will depend on how long your application of this product will last. The more use out of them, like boots, the more often you will need to apply. For me and my world, my boots will get this at least twice a year. Gloves that get used more often, definitely get more applications. It is easy enough. Crank your oven to 250 or so, put your leather product in there, be careful if it has other non-leather pieces on it. Let the item sit to heat up, pull it out carefully and apply as much of the product that the leather will absorb. I personally place it back in the oven again (multiple times if need be), to heat it again and keep applying, until it looks and feels like it will not absorb any more. Great stuff. This really met some high expectations after I watched many people recommend it on YouTube (StrideWise and Wranglerstar I think). Easy to apply and no excessive oily/greasy feeling. My wife and I have footwear of various leather quality (all smooth out no rough out or suede). This seemed to do well with any of them. The leathers darkened a little as expected but nothing crazy. The finish has stuck through a few weeks of use with walking stairs, some rain & puddles, and regular wear. I added the leather oil on some of the sole seams for additional water resistance on all boots. The two products worked well together. So easy to use! Took less than 5 minutes to get a clean and even coat on my boots for hiking in montana/utah through streams and dirt. 10/10 purchase. Just used on my dress boots as well and it made them look brand new!!! Does darken the shade of leather a few notches, but thats a known thing to happen when caring for your boots/leather gear!!!I love what Obenauf's does for my boot leather. I can't think of a better product I have ever used on my boots. Premium quality 100%.My first time buying from Amazon, but been using for years. Nothing else I have tried has come close to taking care of leather.Simply the best leather treatment around. Always works on any leather I put it on and it value is there too. still using my first container after years of use and I just keep buying leather products all the time. does not disappointI use this on a pair of boots I wear every day in all weather. It protects and conditions them amazingly. I scooped some into a jar for a friend with worse-for-wear leather flats: not "like new", but definitely much improved. My husband uses it on his leather bike-seat, keeps it in good shape. Quality product, pleasant to use. (Old socks worn like mittens works well for applying).Absolutely love it and I applied it with my bare hands so now I have a soft hand lol. There's two pairs of shoes in the photo I did two coats on the black one one coat on the brown one the brown one is side by side with itself. It will absolutely darken any leather you put it on but to me that's desirable. Now I know my boots and shoes (boots not included in photo) have well conditioned leather now and if it's good enough for the Idaho Forest service it's good enough for me.These days a lot of leather walking boots are marketed as waterproof when they more accurately should be described as waterproof-able. My most recent purchase were about a waterproof as toilet paper (Izal 'tracing paper' in 1970's school loos was more waterproof).Having slowly dried the leather after their first outing I applied a good coating of Obenauf's and left them overnight in a warm place. The stuff soaked in well. I found I needed several further applications over the next few days after walking in the wet but the boots now appear to be as waterproof as I can got them. I expect to need further applications every so often to keep them in good nick. So all in all I can recommend the productAfter seeing a few online reviews of this online I was determined to try it. I nearly ordered some from the US when I found this seller importing it and selling it here on amazon. Great! After oiling my well-abused work boots with the Obenauf leather oil, I applied a couple of coats of this leather wax. I LOVE IT!It takes a little getting used to applying it with your bare fingers (after using brushes or rags for applying stuff to shoes and boots for the last 50 years!) But this smells pleasant, and it kind of melts into the leather with the help of your body heat. Even leaves your hands ‘treated’!It has made my old boots looking good, and more importantly - water resistant- again! So I will keep using it again. And the tub looks like it will last a good long time as well.I used this product obenauf on both of my leather jackets the result was very good the jackets were more supple & they had a lovely leather smell with it. I applied obenauf for a second time to the jackets really pleased with results. Application used was hair drier & soft cloth, l warmed cloth & container to make more manageable then apply to jackets all over I layed them on a flat table to make it easier. I also found that it made my arthritis better in my hand by using the warm cloth.I’ve been slightly disappointed with this product which I have used on both boots and shoes. Easy to apply and appears to waterproof the leather. However after a day ploughing through mud and wet vegetation boots look as though they haven’t been treated. It is possible they require repeat treatments to build up a level of protection.I'm a leatherworker who was looking for something a bit stronger than Renapur for conditioning my finished work. This stuff is extremely effective, but as others have said it does tend to darken the leather. It's not always a bad thing, and my work often benefits from it, but it's worth bearing in mind.
