I use this all the time on my beard and the vanilla scent is not overwhelmingI gave the order a 4. If I could rate them separately, it would be 5 for balm and 3 for oil. I’ll admit that the vanilla scent of both smells good.It smells fantastic. So for that it lives up to its name. Just don't expect any sort of hold from the balm. Which is what I was expecting just based off other balms I've had for mustache. If you just want it to smell good and condition your beard or mustache sure it'll work. But biting down on a lip full of hair kinda sucks. Overall I'd recommend the oil separately.The oil and balm itself worked great. The scent is another story. I got it vanilla scented since my girlfriend enjoys that smell, good idea, correct? Well whomever was in charge of putting the scent in has obviously never smelled vanilla before, I’m not sure what it smells like since I’ve never smelt that scent before.Like I stated, product is good. I have used other Striking Viking products, with the sandalwood scent. The smell of sandalwood is great for everyday wear. However, if you are looking to change the way your beard smells. The vanilla scent is settled. I can wait to try the other scents.I have tried them all. I found the vanilla scent stays with you longer than other brands. Keeps my beard from going frizzy. The balm i keep in the car and helps keep the hairs tame after my workoutIt makes you smell like Christmas
