Wife uses it. The shampoo is a deep purple that stains the shower once rinsed. Not permanently though. The stuff if much darker than other types. Does good on maintaining hair color and the conditioner works quite well too.Overall for the price it beats all the other purple shampoos on Amazon imo.This works perfectly for bleached hairI received 2 conditioners instead of 1 shampoo & 1 conditioner. The bottles are so little that it’s not even worth the hassle of returning. It looked absolutely amazing! The beautician said that if she wanted to keep it nice she should use Purple shampoo & conditioner. Six months later, with a slight maintenance trim, it still looks a beautiful as the day that it was done. If you're in a similar situation I can wholeheartedly recommend this shampoo/ conditioner to keep it looking nice. My wife has had so many compliments on her hair.I use this shampoo to brighten my daughter and my blonde hair. It works well on both her naturally blonde as well as my dyed blonde hair. I can see a noticeable lightening and brightening. It also leaves my hair feeling very hydrated and soft. However I normally leave a small amount of conditioner in my hair to help take down my curly hair frizz. This conditioner is very blue and leaves a blue tint in my hair, so it needs to be completely rinsed out. It’s not a big deal as I just use another conditioner for my leave in treatment, but thought it was worth mentioning. It is also messy. My daughter manages to get it flung all over the shower stall. Despite being left on the walls and so pigmented, it doesn’t stain. It just doesn’t look so appealing. At the end of the day it does exactly as it’s described to do. I have even used it on my white dog and it brightened her as well. I would purchase it again!I've used many brands of purple shampoos/conditioners. Some did a better job than others at toning. Here's what I liked abut this VR set:--The price. It may seem pricey to pay over $39 for the duo, but you get lots of product (32 oz. ea. bottle), and since you don't need to use a lot of product this set will last you a LONG time.--The color of the shampoo. It is DARK, DARK PURPLE. That's important, because lots of brands I've used were a pale lavender color, and they simply didn't have enough pigment to combat the yellow/brass. This one has the pigment, and it does the job.--The non-drying quality of the shampoo. This one leaves my hair soft and smooth. It wasn't as drying as other brands I've tried.--The extra-moisture from the conditioner. The conditioner in this set is a much lighter color than the shampoo, but it has enough pigment to finish the job of toning your hair. It also seems to add a little boost of moisture and shine.--The end result. After just one use, my hair looked less brassy, with most of the yellow tones eliminated, and it felt soft and smooth.I'm rating this set four stars instead of five only because of a personal preference of mine, which is: I prefer unscented products. This set has a tolerable fragrance (mostly a minty/menthol aroma), but I would have loved it more if it had no fragrance at all.That last quibble aside, I think this set merits a solid 4 stars.Toning wise, yes it worked, but it made my hair feel really dry and hard.
