This product is more like a hair mask than a conditioner. It comes out very thick, thicker than what I would expect from a pump. Other products I've used with a similar consistency have all been in a tub. That said, a little really does go a long way. I used about 3 pumps but I have waist length hair. My hair is also naturally wavy/curly, somewhere between a 2c and a 3a. After just one use my hair felt softer and did not get as tangled! The directions say to leave in 2-3 minutes. My hair washing routine is to wash my hair first in the shower and then wash the rest of me. I ended up leaving the product on for closer to 5-7 minutes. Not sure this if this made a difference, but I can definitely feel the beneficial effects of this conditioner. While leaving my hair feeling soft and detangled it did not make it feel greasy or heavy. It applied the conditioner from the nape of my neck down and then only applied the residue that was left on my hands to my scalp area (this is my standard application for conditioner). The small amount I used on my scalp still left the hair feeling smooth and soft but it does not feel weighed down.The product also has a light pleasant scent that has hints of the coconut but isn't a full on coconut scent. I am very sensitive to smells but this one didn't bother me and I found it to be quite nice.As someone who only washes her hair 1-2 times a week and usually can't run her fingers through it past day 2 even when up in a bun most of the time, this product has been a very welcome addition to my hair care as even many days after washing I can still take my hair down from my bun and run my fingers through it all the way to the ends!!!
